Clothes and apparel Donation drive: 6 April, 2024

- Aim: NavRiseup, partnered with enthusiastic volunteers and students from the Welingkar Institute of Management Development
and Research (Mumbai) to host a clothing distribution drive. This initiative aimed to bridge the clothing gap within the Thane community
by providing essential garments to underprivileged individuals

Collection and Distribution
- Collection Drive: The collaborative effort resulted in collecting approximately 700 clothing items, different types
of clothes collected - new/gently used, specific garments like shirts, pants, jackets, footwear, winter wear etc.
This generous response from the community demonstrates the power of collective action.
- Distribution Process: The collected clothes were carefully sorted and categorized according to age group and gender to
ensure a fair and efficient distribution process. The event catered to a diverse group of around 100 beneficiaries, including children,
men, and women. The distribution ensured that each individual received clothing that met their specific needs.
Impact
The clothes distribution drive provided much-needed clothing to underprivileged members of the Thane community.
This initiative addressed the practical need for clothing and fostered a sense of dignity and well-being among the beneficiaries.
Looking Forward
- Seasonal Drives: Organize similar drives focusing on collecting clothes suitable for specific seasons,
like winter clothing drives, etc.
- Collaboration: Partner with other local NGOs and social service organizations to expand reach and ensure clothing reaches those who need it most.
- Sustainability: Explore options for establishing a more permanent clothing collection and distribution program. This could involve setting up designated donation bins or collaborating with local businesses.
