  • Time of the day: 4.30 pm (Evening time was selected keeping in mind that generally females (women and children) use this as an idle time so that we receive maximum attendance.)

    • Crime detection branch (police school) in Thane
    • Bharat Mata School (support school) in Kandivali
  • Partner: Vimal Khanderao Rangnekar Pratisthan and Umeed - ek anokha kadam
  • Total Women and Kids Benefited: 320
  • Pads Distributed During Event:
    • Thane: 70 (both women and kids)
    • Kandivali: 80 (for those who could not attend the event)
    • Kandivali: 250
Event Description

The event was aimed to address menstrual hygiene needs in the community:

  • Opening Remarks:
    Speaker – Sejal Vijay (Founder of Umeed - ek anokha kadam) on the mission to empower women and break the stigma surrounding periods
  • Event Flow:
    • A specific program flow of the event was maintained
    • Registration of the attendees
    • Short speech and hygiene talk in layman language to make the stigmas clear, to make everyone understand how important the menstrual hygiene is for their health, and motivating them to follow hygiene.
    • Distribution of pads
  • Volunteers:
    • Volunteers played a significant role throughout the event.
    • Their tasks included registration, distribution, maintaining the decorum, assisting the attendees, etc.

    • Feedback was collected via surveys.
    • Positive feedback was received.
    • Their further expectations were documented.
  • Future Plans: 
    • Future expectations of the attendees show the event has created a lasting impact.
    • We plan to hold such events more often.

    • Unexpected demand for pads – Our logistics made large amount last minute delivery
    • Decorum of the event – Volunteers worked hand in hand and completed the event swiftly
